Making good things affordable again.

Nobody should have to choose between paying the bills and owning something good.

Life in the GTA keeps getting more expensive. Rent, groceries, a laptop for school, a winter coat for the kids. At the same time, perfectly good products sit in warehouses because a box got dented or someone changed their mind.

We started Mad Bids to close that gap. Every day we unload returned and overstock goods, photograph every single item, and put it back in front of real people at a price they choose, starting at one dollar. So far, more than $30 million in retail value has crossed our auction block.

When you win a lot, a family saves money, something useful stays out of a landfill, and a local business gets to keep growing. That is the whole idea, and it is why we show up every morning.

How it works

Register. Bid. Win.

Every Mad Bids auction runs on HiBid, so bidding works the same way at both warehouses.

  1. Create a HiBid account

    Sign up free, then choose Register to bid on the auction you want. New registrations are reviewed before approval.

  2. Set your max bid

    Enter the most you'll pay. HiBid bids for you one step at a time, only as high as needed to keep you in the lead.

  3. Win and get your invoice

    Your invoice is the winning bid plus a 15% buyer's premium, a $1 handling fee per lot and 13% HST.

  4. Pick up or ship

    Collect during the pickup window listed in the auction terms, or ship eligible lots for $15 flat.

Where do I bid?

All of our auctions run on HiBid at madbids.hibid.com. Brampton and Vaughan each run their own auctions, and one HiBid account works for both.

How often do you add new lots?

Every day. We list new lots daily and auction off over 10,000 lots every week across both warehouses, with four closings a week. So far we have auctioned over $30 million in retail value.

Do I need to be approved to bid?

Yes. After you register for an auction on HiBid, our team reviews the registration before you can place bids.

What fees are added to my winning bid?

A 15% buyer's premium, a $1 handling fee per lot, and 13% HST.

How do I pay?

After the auction closes you'll receive an invoice. Card payments include a 2.4% processing fee.

Do you ship?

Yes. Eligible lots ship for a $15 flat rate. Furniture is pickup only, and other oversized items may cost extra to ship.

Where do I pick up?

Brampton: 20 Automatic Rd, Unit 9, Brampton, ON L6S 5N6.

Vaughan: 90 Winges Rd, Unit 1, Vaughan, ON L4L 6A9, at the back door.

What condition are the items in?

Lots come from overstock and customer returns, so condition ranges from new in box to open box. Every lot has photos and a description so you know what you're bidding on.

I can't make the pickup window. What now?

Email the warehouse that ran your auction before the window closes, and we'll work out another time.
